Let Me Run- Running and Character Education Program for 4th and 5th Grade Boys
Are you interested in coaching 4th and 5th grade boys through the Let Me Run after school program? Northfield has offered this program in the past, but due to lack of available coaches, the program stopped. We'd love to bring it back this spring, but need coaches to make it happen. Parents, community members, and high school graduates all make great coaches. Coaches receive free training and all curriculum materials. Coaches do not have to be men. We've had women coach in the past with great success!
Let Me Run prepares boys for a 5K race, but really teaches them so much more than that. Through activities and lessons that are provided to coaches, boys learn about the value of teamwork, build relationship skills, create friendships, grow emotionally stronger, improve their self-esteem and learn the importance of living an active, healthy lifestyle.
If you are interested, please see the flyer attached below for more information about coaching. To express your interest or ask questions, please email darag@letmerun.org.
Once we know if we have enough volunteers to coach the program, we will send out a message to let families know that they can register. At this time, there is not a team quite yet!
