FEDERAL IMPACT AID SURVEYS
Federal Impact Aid Survey forms are being sent home this week to each Northfield student who was active as of September 25th. Public Law 81-874 is federal legislation that provides funds to school systems that serve the children of parents who are employed on federally owned property or are on active duty in the armed forces. These funds are provided by Congress to compensate the public for the land areas removed from the tax roles for government use, for increased student attendance in the public schools as a consequence of the government installation, or a combination of the two. The parent/guardian can be employed by the federal government or by a contractor working on a project on federally owned property located in the State of Maryland. Also counted are students whose parents are serving as active military anywhere in the world. Only forms on which parents/guardians have indicated employment on federally owned property located in the State of Maryland or service in the active military should be signed and returned. The survey will be conducted with a scan document. Because the forms will be scanned, they must be filled in with a No. 2 pencil and cannot by folded, stapled, or otherwise marked or torn. Please return the form to your child’s teacher by Wednesday, November 8, 2017. We appreciate your prompt attention.
