Wondering why you should donate to this worthy cause?

Please read the testimonial below from Mrs. Worley, Northfield parent and organizer of Northfield's first blood drive.

Thank you for your interest in donating blood on Thursday, Oct. 5th, at NES!! We need people like you to donate blood & save lives!

My mom was near death when she was diagnosed in 2013, with blood cancer-Leukemia (AML). She needed 6 pints of blood-immediately! As I witnessed her receiving all of this blood, I could actually see it bringing her back to life. Her life depended on this blood because she would have died within hours if there was no blood available. She used to donate often back in the day. Her rare O- blood helped save lives and for her,  it went full circle. She desperately needed her life saved!  Blood from people whom she didn’t even know! You may not know but a lot of families have been effected by blood cancers in our own community, even at NES. I’ve been wanting to host a blood drive for a while now. My mom needed more blood and platelets during the 7 months of treatment. She went into remission for 1 1/2 yes when she relapsed. More treatments, more blood products, drug complications...but she went into remission. She needed a Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT).  I feel honored to say that I could be her donor. She gets emotional every time she tells someone how much blood she has needed in these past four years. She thinks about how many strangers saved her life through blood donations. 3/11/16: she has her BMT. She cries every time she tells someone, “I gave life to Kimberly and then Kimberly gave life back to me.” Please know there are lots of people like CiCi who are depending on people like you. She is in remission but continues to fight to get stronger every single day so she can watch Ava & Paige as they grow. Each day is a gift. Thank you for donating the gift of life! ❤️
