Northfield Elementary's Start With Hello Program

Start With Hello is a research-based program of Sandy Hook Promise to help protect children from gun violence in our homes, schools and communities.

In its third year, the Northfield Elementary School (NES) the Start With Hello (SWH) program is focused on the growing epidemic of social isolation in our schools and communities, and empowering kids to create a culture of inclusion and connectedness within our school.

NES Start With Hello efforts include monthly lunches and activities, SWH ambassadors, SWH Week celebration, Buddy Bench Ambassadors, and opportunities to engage NES students, teachers and parents in activities designed to encourage children to feel more included, and empathetic and compassionate. The NES Start With Hello Committee is comprised of NES parent volunteers, working closely with the NES Administration and staff and the NES PTA.

Our second SWH lunch, grades 2-5, will be Thursday, November 16th and we are looking for parent volunteers - can you spare 30 minutes to have some fun and make a difference? Thanks for your help and consideration - this program works because of you! Contact Buffy Beaudoin-Schwartz (BuffyBSchwartz@gmail.com) or Patti Morse (pmorse94@gmail.com) with questions.
