Homeroom Assignments

One of the most exciting days of the year is quickly approaching-OPEN HOUSE!  On August 31st, Kindergarten students and parents are welcome to visit their new classrooms from 10:00 – 10:45am. Then, the open house for grade 1-5 will be from 2:00 – 2:45pm.  This will give all of our students the opportunity to see their new classroom, meet their new teacher(s), reconnect with old friends and meet new friends.  All students should be accompanied by an adult.  Open House is a great time for students to bring in their school supplies, as well.  

 

NEW this year:  When you go to the classrooms during open house, you will find a tag to record how your child will arrive to and dismiss from school.  You will need to write the information on the tag and place on your child's backpack prior to the first day of school.  If you are unable to attend open house, you may stop by to get the tag ahead of time or you may write a detailed note to the teacher indicating the arrival and dismissal plan for your child. Homeroom teachers will be using Canvas to send a welcome email and introduce themselves to each student in their classroom.  This is how you will find out your child’s homeroom teacher for the upcoming school year.  In order to receive this message, please make sure your contact information is up-to-date and accurate in Family File by visiting HCPSS Connect.  For safety and confidentiality purposes, we are no longer permitted to post class lists with student namea on the front door of the school or in the hallways indicating which class your child is in so please be on the lookout for a Canvas message to be sent at the end of the day on Tuesday, August 29th.
