Help NES Win First Place by Tracking Physical Activity!

Tue, 04/18/2017 - 5:52pm

Fire Up Your Feet provides an opportunity for students to participate in a physical Activity Challenge by tracking PE, recess, classroom stretch breaks, sports, anything active! Our goal is to inspire kids, parents, teachers, and the community to incorporate physical activity into their current everyday routine. We know this takes effort, leadership, and drive, so we offer cash awards to support schools.

The Spring Activity Challenge will be May 1- 31, so register and track activity! The Safe Routes to School National Partnership is invested in creating healthy, thriving communities and schools. Fire Up Your Feet is an encouragement program created by the National Partnership to promote active living and healthy lifestyles for K-8 students, families, and school staff. Schools can earn cash awards for tracking any and all types of physical activity, any time of day, and participation is free! We have a total of $6,500 in cash awards available for K-8 MD schools.

1. Register or Log in (Click on the yellow register button on the upper right hand corner)

2. Create a group and enter the total number of participants in your group.

3. Track activity by selecting the date, type of activity, minutes of activity, group that performed the activity, and the school tracking.

4.  Dr. Tresler will track all school-wide activities, such as Bike and Walk to School Week, and Fitness Fridays.  Please help us by tracking your family’s physical activity!
